We invite you to meet 3 time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond at a beautiful venue with wonderful wine and food.
It’s election time again — that is, time to elect next year’s CRCA Board of Directors. For now, we need to ensure that we have nominees for all Board positions. We will then conduct elections next month. From the current (2008) 11-member board, 4 will be departing, 4 will be running again for the same spot as this year, and 3 will be running for a new position.
Gary Sanderson has been collecting and refurbishing antique bicycles from the 19th Century since 1994, and boasts a collection of almost 200 antique bikes. Twelve (12) of these bikes will be on display at 3RDnature for one month beginning on Oct. 25, 2008 and extending through Nov. 21, 2008.

What was the distances & times for the finals?
all you younger guys should be ashamed comparing yourselves to that old dude!
had 25yrs over you all!
lol
ur lucky I wasnt there to lap you all... lol
It's simple. Ernesto is LaCorte.
i love how "ernesto" responds as if Alex said something along the lines of "Yeah, well, if you think I'm good on rollers, you should see me take on these guys on the actual track!"
but i must have missed him saying that.
wait, let me hit refresh one more time...
Alex was in the ZONE -- he looked like a roller zen master last night - with relaxed face and far away look in his eyes -- it seemed as if he were channeling some long dead roller champ from the races held at Madison Sqr Garden.
Impressive move inching past last years overall winner Lea.
ernesto post (2:42):
what a weiner you are!
alex has no pretensions of being able to beat these t-town monsters on the track.
there IS something to be said for the fact that NO ONE in nyc (not even Lacorte) can beat him on the rollers.
he is but a lowly bicycle messenger/house painter, enjoying his NYS cat 4 track championship and cat 3 upgrade from his first season of racing at the velodrome.
shut the hell up.
way to go al, awesome riding.
You crack me up "Ernesto".
Obviously Lacky would kill me and almost everyone else in a real track sprint. You pretty much stated the obvious. You have anymore words of wisdom?
Really. Seriously dude, who the fuck are you to even say that? So what if Andy is a stronger rider on the track... he's been doing it his entire life and it's all he knows. Let Alex have his moment, he deserves it.
You are good, on the rollers. Impressive. In the real world, Laky will crush you. No offence. Don't even bother on the track. As the year goes on he will only get faster. Imagine that the guy is not even in shape yet... I really think that is the closest you will ever get. Enjoy that molment of somewhat fame.
What happed to Gui..? Got eliminated real quick huh...? He was probably shooting his mouth off too.
Anyone know where I can find some?
Alex you were awesome last night!
CRCA didnt set this up, some of the proceeds or maybe all went to crca juniors though.
You should just be glad Lacky didn't give you the famous "Lackatoss".

Great time last night. Thank you CRCA for setting this up. I'll try to beat those bruiser T-Towners next time. They were fast!

cupcake would have rolled over the garmin boys
They could have raced too... Would have had there asses handed to them too...
Garmin could have donated some nicer prizes!
The older, larger bald guy won. He was wicked fast. The kid from t-town was also impressive. But I think the best ride was the kid from Kissena with the riser bars who almost beat the t-twon whiz kid.
I really liked the location. Good for spectators. Free beer would have made this perfect. It would have been nice is the Garmin boys could have donated a few items to auction off.
who won?
what do u get for $20...?
I'll be sure to bring my Road ID, because it's who I am.
will there be a hipster cat? or best "battle" while riding with a Gin Fizzer???
I would not recommend making this event your first time on rollers.
do i need ID to get into this thing?
schmalz would you advise someone who has never ridden rollers not to do this event?
Do sprinters have the advantage on these events?
thanks
Yiou can ride road or track as long as it makes the roll out distance. You can bring a trainer
We can use a road or track bike?
And can we bring a trainer to warm up?
Thanks
We can't decide about classes - it depends on who shows up.
how many classes for men & women... and is there a jr class?
thanks
Racers pay $10 to race, there's no $20 cover for racers.
will there be a ween hammock knitting contest lolz?
please clarify, is there a $20 + $10 to enter?
any money, or do they just take money?
any money, or do they just take money?
Chernobyl will have a melt down!
Stop posting comments as Quentin Bearing. you're the only one that cares about this junk.
Talked to him the other day about the roster and it was impressive.
That is moving. Do the math.
What's in the cream?
- Cupcake the 2 time US National Masters Champion. (2008-2009)
- Bronze medalist at 2009 Elites and
- 2008 Masters Worlds Bronze Medalist in Sydney AU?
Dam, I want some of the cupcakes he eats.
Doubt he will waste his time tis year.
I am sorry, what have you done?
Bring your own bike. Seeding heats 500m, elimination heats 1k.
bring your own bike?
are they only 500m?
no forks folks (say 10x)
and spray Toto juice on the rollers for extra shiny tushy bouncy Cupcake v Chubanov Grudge Match!
No fork stands - it's the real deal.
do they use fork stands like goldsprints or is this true roller racing?
wow short!!!
Yes, and here's the annual gear restriction posting:
USCF Roller Racing Regulations: "1J4. In roller races, either road or track bicycles may be used. All classes are restricted to a development of 7.69 meters (25 feet 3 inches), and cranks must be at least 165 millimeters long." --from 2006 USCF rule book
More info here:
http://www.bikecult.com/works/rollers06INFO.html
will there be any gear restrictions?
But I loves me some Cupcake.
Cupcake was never meant to be a term of endearment. I called him that as an insult do to his poor riding ethics and the fact that he is fat.
Love
Prospect Park
Everyone's welcome!
do amateurs get to race?
The cupcake does not crash, his strength draws the earth towards him.
Is Cupcake going to go and crash in every heat? That is always my favorite part.
Hot Doggs!!!
(DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE>>>)
the roller races from two years ago. The boys from Trexlertown kicked the snot outta us.
But now I'm back ready to jump into the gaping maw that is the Roller Races!
Brian G.
Looks like it's gonna' be off the chain.
Sideburns Contest! Do it.
How will you get Vaughters away from the fashion show?
Sweet. These roller races are awesome. Love it.
No band, but there's also a music/fashion show going on downstairs on the same night.
will there be a band there too? Looks like a great space for roller races.
