Schamlz: As much as I love the bikes for the road, there's really nothing new happening in that world. The restrictive UCI regulations have made any new innovations about as groundbreaking as a new Steven Seagal song - redundant, overly dressed, and full of bulges in unexpected places.
Shen: We could've spent more time talking to reps and gathering info on these bikes for you, but it's just way too scary to engage those marketing types – there's still some cornered suckers in the hall who've been there since '06 listening to a spiel about carbon layup.

- The Blue rep said the reason for lugged construction is that they can compact a tube a lot more than a monocoque structure. Sure enough, the tubes did have more of a metallic ping and a plastic thud...
