RACE RESULTS

Hangover 7/28/2008

Submitted by schmalz on Mon, 2008-07-28 07:04.

At the CRCA Club Championships, Lisban Quintero of Foundation wins the A Championship, and Sarah Sauvayre of Comedy Central-Sid's gets her second consecutive Club Championship. Mark Heithoff of DKNY wins the B race and Victor Manuel Lopez wins the C race.

At the Cadence Prospect Park Series, Rosevelt "Pollo" Marte of Mengoni wins the 123 race, while Radaslaw Smologa wins the cat 4 race. Jamal Nichols wins the cat 5 race.

No word who won the Zepplin Crit, my money was on John Paul Jones - he always could sprint.

At the Tour of the Hilltowns, Edward King of Bissell wins the Pro 1/2/3 race, with Jonathon Chodroff of Empire 4th. Ann Marie Miller of Sanchez-Merto is 4th in the women's Pro 1/2/3 race. Greg Olsen of Jonathon Adler Racing gets 5th in the men's 3 race. Evelyn Stevens of Avenue A Razorfish wins the women's cat 3/4 race. Matt Cuttler of Affinity wins the cat 4 race. In the men's 40+ David Taylor of Blue Ribbon-Translations is 5th, and in the 50+, Doug O'Neil of Deno's Wonder Wheel wins.

Tour de Toona results aren't in yet, and the CRCA ITT at FBF was cancelled due to flooding on the course, leaving throngs of racers in tight, tight Lycra miffed and confused.

How many wins and top 5 finishes do Victor and Leonides Lopez have to have in Cat 5 park and FBF races before they decide to move to the Cat 4 field where they belong?

Why is your anonymous opinion more important than anyone else's? If someone gave us details we can make up our own minds.
I know 6 or 7 riders who died on the bike, two who are paralyzed, and several who have had multiple surgeries in an attempt to correct injuries from accidents. All were wearing helmets. If you want to say that cycling is *very* dangerous and bikes and cycling should be made illegal, you might make a better point. Ironically, you'd get more people arguing with you.

Dr JLo, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thank God John is going to be okay. Thank you for the update. I was very worried. He is such a nice person, it made me so sad to hear this news earlier today. I hope he gets better very soon. I know many of you are not religious people but I will pray for him tonight.

The park has told me that construction is to begin on Seven Lakes Drive between Tiorati Circle and Kanawaukee Circle in August. Because of this we will not be able to do the normal road race.

Instead we will have a TT Festival. It will include an ITT, a 2 - person TT, 4 person TT, Tandem TT, mixed male/female 2 person TT.
Competitions will be for individual events and special stage race prizes.

The route will be from Lake Welch to Kanawaukee Circle and back, about 11.4 miles.

Park permission and USCF permit have been received.
Event will be posted shortly on bikereg.

Get well John and Sal.

Mike

Bad accident in CP last night, one of our own, Dr. J-Lo, riding without a lid. Went down on his head and now he's in the hospital in bad shape. Hopefully he comes thru ok. I don't have a lot of details, if someone has better info, please share. And please, everyone, wear your helmets. JFT, any suggestion to the contrary would be unwelcome and innappropriate.

The details that are coming is that Bear Mtn isn't going to happen. I'm not sure why there needs to be such mystery around this. The road is being paved and it won't be completed in time.
